A slow weekend in Langkawi (no itinerary, just vibes)
I keep telling myself I'm going to plan trips properly and then I keep not doing it — and honestly, this Langkawi weekend might be the best argument yet for travelling loose. I booked the flight on a Tuesday night after a genuinely awful week, and by Friday morning I was on a scooter with zero plans beyond "find water, sit near it."
Pantai Cenang was busier than I remembered from my last visit a few years back, but I found a quieter stretch near the northern end where the crowd thins out after 5pm. That's where most of this trip happened, honestly — just sitting there with a coconut, watching the sky do its thing, not filming anything for once.
Food-wise, I have to mention the little seafood stall my scooter guy recommended, tucked behind the main strip with no signage I could actually read. Grilled stingray, sambal that nearly finished me, and a view of the jetty that no five-star resort could compete with.
The cable car was fully booked both days I tried (lesson learned — book ahead if that's your priority), so I skipped it entirely and don't regret it one bit. Sometimes the best trips are the ones where you let go of the list. Full video with all the food spots is up on the channel now.
